Anti-Static

| Most fabrics are susceptible to static electricity but in carpeting the problem can be more severe. During periods of low humidity, when moisture is removed from the air by heating units or air conditioners, static electricity may be generated from walking across carpeting and touching metal objects. This results from friction between the feet and carpeting which causes electricity to transfer to the metal. It can become more prevalent and a great inconvenience over time. Particularly around today's hi-tech electronic equipment that can be damaged very easily with this type of occurrence. For the best remedy for your particular problem with static electricity we will be happy to provide you counsel. We can often apply a topical anti-stat to mitigate this problem. It can be eliminated by increasing moisture in the air or by applying antistatic materials. |
