| CLIENT RIGHT TO KNOW: About "Fresh Water" Damage Cleanup General Information: It is our company's responsibility to help our clients become educated in what emergency services are suggested and/or mandated in the performance of containing fresh water flooding from buildings. As an industry standard, all flooding water must be surface extracted and removed from all wet contents and building materials. Fresh water left beyond 24 hours should be disinfected from unwanted fungi, and when necessary, followed up with structural drying. This often involves removal and disposal of damaged pad and carpet, while attempting to salvage most carpeting. Wet floors, especially hardwood flooring and sub-floors are always extracted, air dried and dehumidified in our attempt to salvage costly building materials. In most instances, wet drywall will dry out on its own or with drying equipment, but in some instances fungi are known to habitat inside wet drywall, studs, insulation and other wet building materials. If fungi becomes a building or occupant health concern, we will ask for your written permission to open wet wall cavities in an attempt to clean, sanitize and replace damaged building materials. Health Notice: If you have allergies, are pregnant, under 6 or over 60 years of age, on immunosuppressive medication, have an infection, recently had an operation, or someone in the building has a debilitating disease, we request that these persons stay out of flooding areas while the building is in the process of drying. Safety Notice: Our consulting industrial hygienist and attorney advise us that we must make this general information available to you as part of "Your, Public Right To Know." Furthermore, we are careful to point out that wet floors, vacuums, electrical circuits, gas appliances, building heating and wet electrical household items may be dangerous to touch, turn-on or use until they are inspected by your professional electrical/plumbing contractor. Water Damage Client and Tenant Notice: Please do not touch, move, turn-off or disturb our drying equipment. Our Staff: Our personnel are trained to recognize what building materials are salvageable and which materials may require repair, compared to some materials which may questionable or not salvageable. Your trained certified technician will address each one of these concerns with you. If you have questions, feel free to contact our office immediately. CLIENT RIGHT TO KNOW: Gray Water is any tainted water, which can harbor harmful bacteria, fungi, yeast, and parasites, for example, toilet bowl overflows not having sewage solids or black water. Other gray water flooding may include broken fish tanks, waterbeds, dishwasher, clothes washer, stagnant water and non-potable water, water in dirty carpets or buildings and water from an outside source. Sewage Water is any contaminated water that does harbor harmfu1 disease causing bacteria, health compromising organisms, toxins, and other agents which are known to be disease causing and potentially pathogenic, to humans. For example: a main line sewer system in and under building and toilet bowls with sewage effluents "solids". As Part of Our Company Standards, (including a mandated injury, illness prevention program, while following suggested EPA flooding and containment guidelines, state and local health and safety regulations, and local building codes). We take serious all contaminates which are known to cause harm to the health of cleanup workers, occupants and the public. Please stay out of all contaminated areas of the building! Our Company will not become a party to or liable for improper clean up services. When potential biohazardous agents are not contained, removed and disposed of properly, under tort law, contractors have successfully been sued for leaving buildings in a condition, other than clean/ sanitized! It is for this reason, we are asking you to comply with our trained emergency worker requests and follow their recommendations in attempting to maintain building and occupant safety and health, during containment and removal of potentially disease causing organisms. Sewage Contaminated Building Materials: Once sewage damaged, it will be important to identify what building materials are salvageable, compared to building materials requiring repair or replacement. Your trained and certified technicians will address each one of these concerns with you. Sewage Contaminated Contents: All items should be evaluated for cleaning and sanitation, repair or replacement. For example, contaminated children's soft toys, slippers, personal hygiene and sanitary items. should be disposed. Most wood furniture and other hard items can be sanitized. Notice: If you do not want building materials
and contents properly managed by our company, we "reserve the right"
to decline to work for you. And/or we shall not warrant work which limits
our companies ability to clean and sanitize contaminated contents and
replacement building materials. |
